Prof.Paul Salveson MBE

Paul Salveson is a writer and lecturer on social history, rail transport and regeneration matters. He has a particular interest in the works of Allen Clarke (Teddy Ashton), Walk Whitman, the suffragette Hannah Mitchell, and socialism in general. As a Boltonian his written work frequently encompasses themes of relevance and interest to the town, often including events and subjects that were previously at risk of being forgotten.

His most recent work (2020), ‘Moorlands, Memories and Reflections’, is a thoroughly enjoyable and updated excursion into Allen Clarke’s cycling based exploration of the countryside around Bolton, undertaken a century ago. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in Lancashire.

Paul is a regular blogger and his more recent contributions can be found here http://paulsalveson.org.uk/ and here http://lancashireloominary.co.uk/

His books are physically available in a number of locations close to Bolton, but can also be purchased online from the usual sources or via his own web page http://lancashireloominary.co.uk/index.html/order-form
